Louisiana Seafood, Moreno Valley

The trek to Palm Springs calls for the weary traveller to stop for a snack and this is the place to do that. Best to call ahead: 909-653-4783 because its a popular place and the food is prepared to order, but a 20 minutes heads up and a good plate of food will be ready. Very good gumbo served every day - large is $9.50 and small is $6.50 and they have several po boy sandwiches, oyster, shrimp, lots of shrimp dishes and nine different fishes by the piece (catfish, snapper, fole, sand dabs, cat steaks, buffalo, whiting and jumbo shrimp). Side orders of potato salad, cole slaw. I love the oyster po boy and the gumbo and friend shrimp. We have to eat in the car because Devil Chow and his missus can't be left in the car in Riverside County which imposes a $104 fine for leaving an animal in a vehicle (at any season, cold or hot).

Pigeon Pass Road exit off the 60 in Moreno Valley.\12625 Frederick St. #1-10, Towngate, Moreno Valley, CA . Phone 909-653-4783.
