Louisiana Seafood at the Dallas Farmers Market

Just posted a similar post in a response to someone asking about Cajun goods, but wanted to let folk in general know about a new vendor at the Dallas Farmers Market specializing in seafood from Lousiana.

So far I have tried their snapper, grouper and shrimp, and I liked them all a lot. The shrimp are hefty and better than anything I have found in Whole Foods/Central Market/etc. I also have some gator in my freezer that I plan on making some sausage out of. The proprietor apologized for it being farm raised, and ensured me he is sourcing a wild purveyor. That's hard core cred in my book.

They also had some real deal boudain today from Breux Bridge. Haven't tried it yet, but it has no preservatives and was pretty cheap. The proprietor says they are looking to get a permanent fish shop in the Market, at which point they would likely stock tasso, andouille, etc. She did say she can get crawfish, when available. RIght now everything is frozen, but the idea to sell fresh over ice if they get the shop together.

I have no affiliation with them, but I am rooting for them -- would love a seafood-centric Cajun shop near downtown.
