Lotus Blue lunch -- excellent, exciting food at a very reasonable price.

Had a delicious lunch at Lotus Blue today.
We had had dinner there a good while ago and have been intending to go back because we enjoyed it so much, so were pleased to see it was open for lunch.
The lunch specials are of excellent quality (and variety) and very inexpensive.
We had the lotus root salad (in a tangy dressing with sesame oil in it), and 2 "set dishes".
These come with a good-sized bowl of brothy soup, with bamboo pith and enoki mushrooms in it (tasted great, I did not take a photo of it because I don't think my cellphone camera would have shown it to advantage), and jasmine rice.
I had the long horn chili chicken, which was made with perfectly-cooked chicken thigh meat, little parallelograms of finely-sliced fresh ginger, fresh basil and mint, rectangular slices of long green chilis, lots of snipped hot dried chilis, and enough Sichuan peppercorn to bring the ma big time.
He had the sole sizzle, which was a very large portion of mild white fish over fresh spinach in a delicious broth with sprays of fresh Sichuan peppercorn. The two dishes played off each other nicely.
I had the coconut-ginger flan, which was decorated with a sprig of basil, and was delicious.
Their wine list is geared to the food -- we had the rosé from Provence, which made a super accompaniment.
The restaurant is very attractively decorated and would make an excellent date spot...
