Hi all! I know there are a lot of m&m cookie recipes out there, but I really want the one I grew up with, and which I have unfortunately lost.
M mom cut this recipe off the back of a bag of m&m cookies many years ago (must have been over 20, maybe 30 years ago since we made these when I was very young)!
It was different from most of the m&m cookie recipes I've seen. It used regular m&m's (the minis probably didn't exist then), but most of them were crushed up and mixed into the dough; only a few were reserved for pressing on top of each cookie. I also remember that the cookies were baked a little over halfway, and then they were taken out so you could press the reserved m&m's on top, and then they went back in to finish cooking. There were the standard cookie ingredients: butter, brown and white sugar, egg (don't remember how many), vanilla, flour, probably baking powder and/or soda, then the crushed m&m's.
Does anyone have this recipe? I found a similar recipe on the internet (attached here), which I might use if I can't find the original, but I've made my old recipe so many times and they always turned out perfectly, so I'd really prefer that one! Thanks in advance!
