Los Angeles based hound will be visiting his daughter (student @ Fordham) over Labor Day. My NYC dining experience is pretty much limited to the Oyster Bar @ GCS. If any of you have LA experience, I'm looking for places that would be the NYC counterparts to places of the following ilk:
Soot Bull Jeep
Top Baguette (Banh Mi)
Shin-Sen-Gumi (Hakata Ramen)
I'm staying at my comprade's apt. in Chelsea. He's suggested Half King as a top local spot.
I know these ambiguous "best of" requests annoy some people, but if that is not you, I appreciate your recommendations.
