Los Angeles: Sunday Brunch at Milk and Honey

SoCal Mother | Nov 7, 2010 09:27 PM

Since there have been several threads lately from folks wanting recommendations for Los Angeles, I just wanted to review our experience today at Milk and Honey's Sunday brunch.

In a word, WONDERFUL.

We were expecting to order from the menu, so we were surprised at the buffet lunch and it cost more than we had expected ($22 pp) but the food was interesting, fresh and everything from custom made omelettes to coffee to mimosas was included in the price.

Some of our favorite dishes were: teriyaki salmon with veggies, penne pasta with a creamy tomato sauce, eggplant parmesan, fresh waffles and all sorts of interesting cooked vegetables. They had one tomato based soup, a tray of knishes, lox, a few salads, etc, etc.

The waiters were amazingly attentive. We sat at our table and our waiter came over and took our omelette and beverage orders (rather than standing around in a stupid line) and we each got our eggs cooked to order as requested. Even the coffee was good and I am picky about that.

I was most impressed that as we each had our last cup for the road, the waiter somehow knew that we were out of cream. Yeah, OK, maybe I am too used to kosher restaurants where I watch my food get cold while I wait for the ketchup, but I could really get used to service like this!!
