I know it sounds strange, but I tried fried cheesecake in a restaurant in Northern California last year and it was great. It appeared to be crispy filo dough with cheesecake filling in the center. It was sliced on the diagonal like eggrolls and garnished with different fruit purees and chocolate sauces for dipping. It was absolutely Delicious. I had never heard of it before and I have not seen it since. The strange part is that the crispy shell was hot and crisp and the cheesecake center was refreshingly cool. Almost the same concept as fried ice cream.
