Following up on a tip from a friend who lives nearby that a new watering hole, The Lord George, might be opening soon, I drove by early Saturday morning to check it out. Still papered over, but the principals were on-hand and invited me in for a peek. They also own The Corner Store and the San Francisco Athletic Club. Target for opening is some time this week, and maybe as early as tonight.

The concept is craft cocktails and small plates. The front corner will house an oyster bar and they promised plenty of Champagne to accompany the bivalves. The name comes from "Lord" George Gordon who founded South Park.
