Looooong Food Report (Madrid, Toledo, Seville, Barcelona): Toledo

Many of these message boards were of tremendous help to me in planning my trip to Spain. Thanks to all for your help and advice. Here's where we ended up going, which I've split up by city for easier reading:

TOLEDO: Day 4
ALFILERITOS 24: Prior to our trip, I had done a substantial amount of research on food options in each of the cities but had found relatively less consensus when it came to restaurants in Toledo. I imagine it might be because few people are in Toledo long enough to sample a large number of restaurants. For those of you looking for a good bite to eat while in Toledo, Alfileritos 24 was a good option for us. We had dinner in the downstairs bar area, a dimly lit, cave-like room with low ceilings and exposed stones. Having gotten used to the smaller Madrid-size tapas and raciones, we ordered the La Tabla (a very large platter of assorted meats—perdiz, lomo, jamon, pate) and 2 raciones (croquetas, which had a delicious, creamy mushroom soup-like filling and patatas con chorizo, which was good but not too exciting) that turned out to be entrée-sized portions of food themselves. We probably would have been full just eating the La Tabla! Our plates of food, including the gigantic meat platter, barely fit on our table, and we left stuffed and eager for a long walk through hilly Toledo.
