LOOONG East Side Trek -- Looking for Recommendations!

Kanger | Sep 12, 2006 06:35 PM

I'm looking to take a LONG walk from 125th all the way down to Tribeca with a few friends on a Saturday or Sunday soon, stopping along the way for booze and grub. Looking for small bites that can be shared amongst a few people. I'm trying to get some culinary variety--looking for suggestions! Here's what I'm thinkin' right now, starting from North to South:

black pudding at Kinsale Tavern (93rd/3rd)
custard choux at the Choux Factory (48th/1st location)
hot chocolate shots at City Bakery
wine at Otto's
takoyaki at Otafuku
fries at Pommes Frites
hot dogs at Katz's (pastrami would be too filling)
grilled corn at Cafe Habana
chive and pork dumplings at Dumpling House
lychee sorbet at Chinatown Ice Cream Factory

Areas of need:

1. I want to make a few stops for beer along the way, so need recommendations for bars with something particularly appealing/worthwhile/distinctive about them.

2. Need something between E 125th and E 93rd.

3. Need something between E 93rd and E 48th.

Fire away, Chowhounders!
