longshot question on a sourdough bakery

8 years ago, I used to go to Max's at Opera Plaza for a caesar salad to go at lunch. It always came with a huge wedge of a really fantastic sourdough. I asked the counterperson who made the bread, and I believe he said it was from a bakery in Santa Rosa (or possibly Santa Cruz), but he didn't tell me the name. They subsequently changed suppliers some time later. So...

Does anyone know of a great sourdough producer out of Santa Rosa? Or, more to the point, who used to supply Max's with sourdough ~1993-94? Thanks for any clues.
