long walk with food

As part of our half-hearted attempt to lose weight, my boyfriend and I have been going on long walks every weekend. We are seeing so much of the city that we have never seen before, and unfortunately, we are eating much of it too.

Yesterday, we walked from Union Square to 60th and 1st, across the Queensboro Bridge, through LIC to Astoria. We started off with a snack from the Farmer's Market: delicious Womanchego, fresh Gala apples, and hard pennsylvania pretzels. When we got to Astoria, we stopped to share a square slice at Rizzo's (mentioned in New York this week, and really, its that good), and empanada at Empanada Papa (?). We picked up some butter cookies filled with walnuts, pistacios, figs and dates at an Arabic bakery that I unfortunately can't remember the name of. We ended up at the Bohemian Hall, where we shared a pitcher of beer (again, I can't remember the name), a crispy skinned kielbasa, and mushroom pierogies. It was a really great day, with good weather as well.

Does anyone have any ideas for other food-related long walks? We have walked to Williamsburg and Brooklyn Heights already. I think Astoria was the best so far. Any comments?
