a long shot... 60s "cape cod chews"

back in the 60s, my family spent summer vacations on cape cod in wellfleet (massachusetts) -- mostly at chequessett village & indian harbor colony.

during at least part of that decade, there was a small bake shop on the north side of Kendrick Ave between the town pier, to the east, & where the road bends away from the water, to the west. they sold "cape cod chews" there, and they were the most wonderful & delicious things my sister and i ever had, or have, tasted.

i can't remember the bakery's name, or be certain that i'm recalling its location accurately; it was a long time ago...

does anyone remember anything about these brownie-like goodies? do they survive in some form? or has the fog of time so clouded my memory that they never in fact actually existed, except in my imagination?
