Someone gave me a large quantity of lemons. I was thinking of making some jars of lemon curd and give them away as gifts.
I was wondering how long they last as is, and if there are ways of prolonging their shelf life? I thought maybe treat it like canning? Would boiling the filled jars help keep it for longer? And how long do I have to boil? Can I use those glass jars with the rubber rings on the openings, or do I have to use those metal top canning jars?
