Rules- Ye olde setting filled w tourists (like us). Relaxed. Service obliging.Sole- the Wife says best she's ever had; pheasant casserole: boned, around apricots, served w mash and ? chives- wonderful; sticky toffee pud, very good; choc souffle w fudge sauce: the wife- who's a choc freak- says as good as any choc dessert ever. wines- house champers: pretty good; Rully- very good. Cissac 1990-OK. Can easily cost $ 150. US.
Back to Basics- cozy; good prices.Freshest fish. Very good sole. Good house white. Bread pudding- crisp top over creme anglaise- recommended.
Virgin Atlantic coach- staff pleasant; nice extras; wish for more spoace betw rows.
Russel Hotel- Agreeable, seemed understaffed
