London restaurant for an 8-year-old

I need a recommendation for a place I can take my 8 1/2 year old niece on Friday where she will be impressed by the surroundings and the adults will be impressed by the food. She is a fairly adventurous eater (eats mussels, steamed clams) but I would love to take her somewhere where the decor will knock her socks off, or where there is a view. I had thought of the Criterion Brasserie, but the food is just too awful. She is not mad about very spicy food, but eats almost all sorts of fish, meat vegetables, etc. Someone recommended Boudin Blanc to me--I have never heard of it. And I know everyone says this about the children in their immediate circle, but this is a very well-behaved child who is accustomed to eating in fairly sophisticated restaurants--we are taking her along to the River Cafe on Saturday and I have absolutely no qualms about that. Thanks for your suggestions.
