My fella and I will be in London for five days (coming from Chicago), and I need a little help narrowing down food options. We were there last spring, so this list is mostly places we didn’t make it to and some new additions culled from other discussions on this board. We'll be staying in Shoreditch and Trafalgar Square, but we don’t mind venturing out.
Fish & Chips: Masters Superfish / Golden Hind / Kerbisher & Malt
Gastropubs: Harwood Arms / Great Queen Street / Anchor & Hope
Full English breakfast: Roast at Borough Market / Hawksmoor Guildhall / E. Pellicci (Should I go the greasy spoon route? If so, any other recommendations?)
Sunday Roast: Bacchus Sundays or Jones & Sons (Narrowed down to these two b/c of their location--close to hotel and our Sunday plans. Tried the Princess of Shoreditch on last trip)
Indian: Gymkhana / Dishoom
Sketch (I’m mainly intrigued by the space, and I’m a David Shrigley fan. Worth going for food? Tea? Is it crazy to do tea alone--bf is working during the days. Just go for drinks?)
10 Greek Street
8 Hoxton Square
Clove Club (Had a great experience ordering a la carte at the bar last time; debating if I should go back or free up a slot to try something new...)
Green Man & French Horn
Sasuka (Interested in the dipping ramen. Had Shoryu last time. Might just go to Koya again b/c I loved it!)
Brawn / Tramshed (BF has already been to these and is kinda meh on returning. Worth it for me to try on my own?)
Still working on cocktail places because priorities! These are ones we didn’t hit up last time. Also, any recommendations for places that are open late?
