London Chinese

I'm a Chicago hound recently relocated to London and having some difficulty finding great chinese in London. My boyf LOVES Mayflower on Shaftesbury avenue which is pretty good, but nothing special like Spring World or Lao Sze Chu in Chicago. I love Dim Sum, and tried New World. Some of the dumplings were great but in general at 12:30 on a Thursday lunch most items were not quite fresh enough.

Any suggestions in central/north London, especially Chinatown? i'm not looking for high class fine dining chinese experiences (I travel to HKG every few months) but a few places that are neither a splurge nor a special occaision for weekday meals and any good bakeries.
