Taking the family across the pond for XMAS break. Wife & I have never been to London and kids have never been to Europe. Staying at May Fair Hotel. We have 5 nights in the city and I'm one of those guys who likes to spend some time investigating ahead of time and get some good local intel so we don't waste any of our meals on crappy, touristy places.
I'm assuming restaurants in London will treat XMAS much the same as we do here in Boston. Any places that are part of a hotel or near a hotel will be open, some will have a pre-fixe menu and many restaurants will be closed altogether. Is that right?
I'm hoping for suggestions for a XMAS dinner in an upscale restaurant (great food, good scene, fun vibe) that bringing the kids would be appropriate. Ideally with in a 20 minute radius from May Fair Hotel. Cuisine preferences include : European, Steakhouse, Italian, Spanish Tapas, American, Contem British, no Indian.
Also, is XMAS Eve night the same?
