I went to Portland for the day with my wife for an afternoon and evening of eating Maine lobster. Being from Wisconsin we figured we couldn't miss. We completely winged it, no motel, no car, no recommendations until we got there. Our plan was to eat so much lobster that we were sick of it,in a sense, boy were we mistakin. Everyone from the airport information center to the hotel downtown suggested Dimillo's, Sebago Micro Brewery, J's Oyster Bar and Gilberts. Never eating a lobster roll before we went to Sebago's, nice place, lobster roll, wouldn't care if we ever had one again. We split one at Gilberts there was NO tail meat in it as advertised, but better than the first one we had. Here comes the sad part, We went to J's Oyster bar and had oysters rockafeller, which you can find better in north Texas. We ordered each a lobster dinner for 15.95, we both were not even close to full and my wife is a 120lb's. The tails were about 6oz.a real dissapointment. So we asked the waitress where to go for a huge tail and she, believe it or not recommended Dimillo's next door. We ordered yet another dinner of lobster and when it came was four pieces of tail that were about the size of a medium to large shrimp. We just couldn't beleive it. Money wasn't a concern when coming here as long as we got our fill of lobster. We spent 400.00 that day and bought nothing but food and drinks. When we got home the next day we went to a local place in Wisconsin and had a 20oz. tail for $23.00 I don't get it!
