Lobster Noodles @ Ocean Restaurant, SF

A week away from the City left me craving chopstick food. Remembering the lobster specials posted in the window at this long-time Clement St. Cantonese seafood house, I headed here for an early supper. Lobster with noodles, $12.50 at dinner time, turned out to be a 1#, maybe a bit bigger fresh lobster cut into chunks, dusted and sauteed with ginger and scallions, then tossed with a big pile of wide fresh egg noodles in a light seafoody broth. Not the best lobster I’ve ever had, but certainly worth the price. The pieces were cut expertly to make the sweet flesh easily to remove from the shell. The noodles had just the right firm yet tender bite and a silky texture. This really hit the spot.
