I found a local resource that is selling a 1/2 pound of lobster meat for $22. The meat is from a fairly well-known packing company in Portland, ME who "certifies" that they only use Maine lobsters. I'm only making 2 lobsters rolls, so I was thinking that a 1/4 pound of meat in each one is more than enough. Being from the great state of Connecticut, we plan on making CT-style lobster rolls meaning no mayo, just melted butter.
Is this a good deal or should I look elsewhere for my lobster meat? I guess cooking my own lobsters would be an option, but I would probably need quite a few lobsters to get a 1/2 pound of meat. Thoughts?
