We had a fabulous lobster dinner from Captain Marden's in Wellesley tonight. Captain Marden's is our exclusive source for fresh fish, but this is the first time I have had them prepare boiled lobsters for us. We ordered five two-pounders (they ran about $20 each) and picked up some clam chowder (I don't know the price because we were mis-charged) and twice-baked potatoes ($2 each for very large potatoes). Everything was fabulous. The lobsters were packaged in foil and then sealed in thick plastic bags. They came out of the pot at about 5pm, and we unwraped and ate them at around 6:30pm. They were still hot and none the worse for wear. In fact they were as good as any lobster I have had recently in a restaurant. And although I do not consider myself a chowder maven, this clam chowder was excellent, with lots of large, plump clams, and a much better clam-to-potato ratio than I am used to at area restaurants.
