THE LOADING DOCK: A decent, casual, modern spot in Belmont serving Middle Eastern-inspired cuisine for takeout/breadkfast/brunch/lunch/dinner (and it looks like they could handle special events as well). I gather the owner is Israeli and the chef/wife is Polish.

The hummus ($8) was excellent (his father's recipe!) and a good size, with the caveat that it was served with a large dollop of very spicy shattah hot sauce in the center. I enjoyed it, but I imagine most hummus eaters would be shocked by that.

I was a bit less impressed by my Mediterranean lamb burger ($13), which was cooked medium well despite being ordered medium, so it was on the dry side. Tasty enough, but nothing special. The huge pile of fries were big and fluffy inside, but were probably cooked in an air frier (which fits with the generally healthy nature of the menu), so they actually weren't that interesting.

Small cocktail/wine/beer list. I had a pineapple margarita, which was tasty enough.

Some limited parking out front. Kitchen closes at 9:30PM, although the restaurant is open to 10PM. They were kind enough to call to tell me this when I had a 9PM OpenTable reservation (the place was virtually deserted at that time of night on a Wednesday). I appreciate that sort of customer service.

There's not a lot that is interesting in the area, so I would come back again. Although it's more of a American-Middle Eastern fusion fast casual style, the quality of the hummus suggests that one of the few more authentic sounding dishes, like falafel, might be the way to go.
