Liquor prices at different Costcos

Blumie | Feb 4, 201712:20 PM     2

I was surprised some years ago to discover that some products are priced differently at different Costcos. I recall learning of one example where an item was cheaper at the Dedham location than the Waltham location (which makes sense in that the Waltham Costco is much busier).

I am not surprised, however, to find that liquor is priced differently at different locations. I've always believed -- and I'm sure someone here can confirm this -- that different liquor stores are owned by different operators, so it makes sense to find different pricing.

In any event, I was at the West Springfield location recently, and purchased a bottle of Jameson for $24.99, a bottle of Booker for $44.99, and a bottle of Glenlivet 12 yr. for $36.99. Out of curiosity I compared these prices to the Waltham location and found in each instance that Waltham was $1/bottle cheaper.

Not a big deal, but figured I'd report it here since so many are up in arms about pricing at Total Wine.
