Was tonight at Ristorante Agostino. Chef-owner Agostino Flasche explained that he uses only East Coast calamari which he cleans himself. Meals here include a complimentary dessert of cantaloupe slices, whole peaches, and whole plums. I abetted this with spumoni made by Il Gelato. Then went a couple of blocks south to Caffe Italia for cappucino. More proof that Harlem Ave., from the Italian joints up north through the Bohemian places in the center to the Middle Eastern restaurants south, is one of Chicagoland's greatest chow streets.
