Lines Around the Block....Halal Guys from NYC Are Here

Steve | Sep 1, 201604:19 AM     14

The area right around the Dunn Loring Metro in Merrifield, VA (on Gallows Rd.) has been transformed into a semi-urban enclave, as popular as the Mosaic District (slightly to the south) but tighter in space.

I spotted a big line snaking around the block and stopped to find out what the fuss was. Apparenty social media had attracted everyone to a soft opening of the Halal Guys, a legendary halal cart from 6th Avenue in Manhattan. They are opening a string of retail locations and are drawing people to their famous chicken and rice combo.

I wasn't about to get on that line, but I am curious enough to keep this in mind for when the lines die down. There will be other locations in the area, maybe some are already open.
