This Saturday there will be a fresh apple cider pressing after 10 a.m. at the new 66th Street/Broadway Greenmarket. I forget the name of the farm that will bring the apples, I believe it's Prospect Hill Orchards, but I think they make some of the best cider in the city.
This market is really very good, not at all as big as Union Square of course, but the quality of everything is top rate, and last week they added a new stand, the jam/jelly maker Beth's Jams. Their apricot jam is to die for.
I posted about this greenmarket a few weeks ago, but it was the summer vacation and I figure many westsiders might not know about it yet, so this is the friendly reminder. I'm only a faithful customer, my only vested interest is that I don't want this market to disappear.
