Sadly, the limsterfest is drawing to a close after many a lovely meal and wonderful shared company over a lovely glass or ten of wine. The concentration of meals we won't miss as badly as we are guaranteed to miss our friend and wellspring of dining information, the legendary limster. so off we go to yet another on his list of "musts" to johnny alamilla's alma on the 4th of june at 7:30.
chef alamilla has graciously said he'd do a family style dinner for us with his favorites off the menu to include his famous ceviches to start, followed by tastings of four appetizers, five of the entrees and two sides, one of them the yucca and roasted garlic gratin that tida wrote about saying it was rich and delicious.
dinner with tax and tip should run about $50 per person for a party of 10. as with all the dinners we've had in honor of limster a donation to our beloved site, chowhound, or a subscription to the weekly chownews is strongly encouraged. Wine is not included but they have a lovley wine list at very reasonable prices and the chef has bent the rules for us saying we can bring in as many as 4 bottles of wine if we agree to buy the same number off the wine list in which
case he'll waive corkage. i'm anxious to meet him as he's been so personable over the phone. steve waits on him at chenery park occasionaly and says he's really a nice guy.
please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you'd like to join us. there are several seats available yet and i'd love to have a full table for the evening to send limster off in the true chowhound fashion.
if you'd like to read more about previous posts on alma see the link below. i look forward to our night of nuevo latino cuisine and merry making.
