Thought I'd write a positive post so you don’t take me for the misanthrope I came across as in the Carriage House post.

Went to L'Impero last night and everything was just about perfect. The room was elegant and comfortable. The service really was impeccable. From the hosts, to the bussers, to the sommelier, to our waiter (Matt), everyone was as gracious as could be and equally as knowledgeable. There wasn’t even an eye roll when we asked for the third time what exactly was in the pasta dishes.

For food, we started with a mixed seafood appetizer and a sautéed mushroom and polenta dish. I had no idea polenta could be so good. The seafood dish was also great. We ordered three pastas to share. They were all great but the standout was the duck-and-foie gras agnolotti. I would like to lay in a bed of that agnolotti. For main courses we had the capretto, a new one for me. It was wonderful. We also had a fish, which name escapes me, but was delicate and delicious. The coffee was served French press style and was fantastic as were the mini-cookies that came with it.

Tudor City will be seeing the likes of me again as soon as possible.
