limoncello

Went to the North end Saturday night on a spur-of-the-moment whim, along with (as it turned out) about 1000 other people who had the same idea. Was having zero luck scoring a table anywhere when I literally bumped into fellow chowhound Rubee and her gang (Ernesto, Brian, Craig and friend). They kidnapped me over my feeble protestations and dragged me into Limoncello, where they had by incredible foresight made reservations. Needless to say, I had a great time with them. One of the highlights of the meal was a rosetta pasta, made from homemade pasta sheets rolled loosely around prosciutto, montaggio cheese and mushrooms and then cut into a large rosetta shape onto the plate, in cream sauce w/ truffle oil, highly recommended. We did not get to try the squid ink tagliatelle this time. Accompanied by several bottles of the excellent red wine selected by our host, a Salice Salintino (sp?), and some of the house Limoncello of course, we quickly reached a delirious state of North-End nirvana. Will definitely be back.
