Limestone -> Bardstown? The buzz in Lexington, KY

Dien Ho | May 23, 200311:18 AM

For those who don't know, there are about 3 to 4 new restaurants opening on North Limestone in Lexington. Some locals have compared it to an emerging Bardstown Road a la Louisville. I checked out Le Deauville (the new French Bistro) the other day. The food was quite good. Typical bistro fares done competently. The steamed mussels appetizer were wonderful. Wine list and prices in general are on the high side but in a town lacking a true French bistro, Le Deauville rules by default. The owner Christof is a nice guy. Emmett's (a wonderful restaurant in the suburb) is also opening a restaurant on Limestone. All and all, I think there will be at least 7 or 8 restaurants within four blocks. It should be exciting.

Will keep posted.
