Lillet cobbler

Hello people,

Just wanted to share a nice summer cocktail I had to come up with for my sister’s birthday and this was a great choice! Its use of fortified wine makes it a lot less strong than most spirit based short drinks, its very easy to do and its delicious!

I actually got my inspiration from a bramble recipe but there was confusion in the naming convention. The original bramble is made with gin, so any cocktail named bramble, in my opinion, should at least have strong spirits in it. My version was made with a fortified wine so it should be called a cobbler as far as I understand.

*2 ounces lillet (any fortified wine should do… fino sherry, pineau des charentes, marsalla oro, white port…)
*¾ ounce simple sirup (2 parts sugar for 1 part water)
*¾ ounce fresh lemon juice
*Fill a whiskey tumbler with ice (crushed is better but cubes will do)
*Dry shake and pour in the whiskey tumbler
*Float on top ¼ ounces of a fruit based liqueur that’s around 20% ABV (that’s 40 proof for americans) (I used crème de framboise but you could try it with fragola or chambort!)
