My in-laws recently told my husband and I that they would like to foot the bill for the two of us to dine at "the finest restaurant in Chicago," whatever we perceive that to be. Seeing how we had a baby 6 months ago and the finest dining we've experienced of late has been Sunshine Noodle with the wee one (which is a wonderful place for folks with kids in tow)we are sort of awe struck and giddy. And slightly clueless.
We've asked around and several people rallied hard for the overall quality of Blackbird and then a few others said that Les Nomades reigns supreme for fine dining.
We've not been to either so I am coming at this from a completely uninformed state. Neither of us are drinking much wine these days given the need to be up several times in the evening, so the world's greatest wine selection isn't a huge factor. I think we just want a wonderful, high quality thoughtful food experience. Great ingredients, thoughtful presentation and definitely the "oh, I don't think I'd ever be able to make this at home" feeling.
I'd appreciate any thoughts and comments. Thanks in advance!
