LES, Chinatown Closings/Moves, Guss

I'm an NYer exiled to DC, and I heard about two notable closings in the past year: Kidouri & Sons Import on Hester St, which, next to Kalustyan's, was probably the best ME and Med. importer we had, with an especially great selection of dried fruits, nuts, and halvah, and Lin's Dumpling House on Pell St. Lin's was a next-door neighbor to the Manhattan Chinatown Joe's and in my opinion, excepting Joe's stellar soup dumplings and scallion pancake (and putting aside Lin's mostly watered-down for the non-Chinese clientele menu), was its superior. Are these two gone for good?

Also, does anyone know about the arrangement w/Guss Pickles? I know they moved into the basement of the tenement museum. Is the museum subsidizing them? Are they staying there for good? What's the deal?

These moves, along with Ratner's closing a few years back, makes me wonder if the good stuff can afford to stay in the neighborhood.
