I have a friend coming by on Friday, and we've decided that, rather than do our normal go-out-to-dinner thing, we'll try to hit a bunch of bars on the LES that have good drinks and small plates. Sample a little here and there, as it were.
She has specifically requested a non-LES visit to Pravda, which works well enough for me, since it's a few blocks away from my apartment and it looks like the weather is going to be lousy. I figure we'll hit that early and then head across the Bowery.
With that said -- are there any bars that you folks are fond of where we could hang out for an hour or so, find some interesting drinks to go along with nice small dishes (we don't have to eat at every location), not be in the middle of an overly-horrible mob scene, and then move on?
I've jotted down Verlaine, Kush, and Punch & Judy as possibilities thus far.
