was excited to visit les babouches last night after a long break--was there last spring, and everything on the menu tasted like maison du couscous but was priced much higher. haven't been back to maison since then either and not sure how it is lately, but there is certainly someone new and not as good cooking in the kitchen at les babouches. the two appetizers were greasy with mushy flavors and tough textures. and the portions of the main dishes were miniscule. lamb with prunes and almonds had one small shank and six prunes and six almonds decorating the edges--about a half a cup of cinnamon flavored rice came out with it. not at all the heap of delicious tagine we had last time. i'm not even going into the surprise and mortifying group belly dancing scene.
