Leo's Ribs ...The Man...the Sauce...

I just heard of the passing of Leo. The best rib joint in LA is now gone. It was the fire in the sauce that kept me coming back for over 20 years. Now that it's closed, can anyone help me recreate that great hot sauce? Or suggest a pale substitute? Sugary western style sauces need not apply.
