Lemon frosting question

Quick help needed, b-day party nears!

I tried a recipe for a sturdy whipped cream frosting which never whipped up properly. Long story, it's happened to others. I have roughly one cup cream mixed w/ sugar and 6 oz cream cheese. If I add the 2 oz of cc left and powdered sugar, can it make a decent frosting? Or should I go to plan B?
