Leisurely lunch for two

Sam | Mar 25, 2005 06:49 PM

My wife and I are travelling to NYC next month and we want to have a nice lunch on a Friday afternoon. We are flying into town for the weekend and land at 11:50 at JFK, and we are staying at The Alex hotel which is located near Grand Centra.

Where would be a place where we can go get a great lunch and relax? It does not have to be in the hotel area, but we also don't want to travel all over and have lunch at 2pm or later. If possible, we would like to go somewhere that we could walk around afterwards and shop, not necessarily Midtown, but something cooler and interesting.

I looked at the menu for Bouley and that looked really good, but may be too far. We also do not want to go anywhere that is too dressy, I will be wearing pants, but no jacket or tie. We prefer to not have ethnic food either.

Thanks for all your help!
