Legendary Noodles (Vancouver, Northern Chinese, pictures)

I really have to start watching my cholesterol levels.

I went to Legendary on Main St today with a colleague. I had the hand-cut noodles with pork and hot garlic sauce and the peashoots. Both items were great....especially their famous peashoots (which they call Rock n Roll on their menu).

My friend wanted to try their XLB. I warned him that Legendary does not do an exemplary XLB but he ordered it anyway. The skin was a little tough - some had holes, the dumplings were tight (without the usual "bagginess") and it was not juicy. Lesson learned.

So what's good to order at Legendary? The noodles (they do a pretty good dan dan, and soup), peashoots, the boiled and fried dumplings. Cheap eats done right...for the most part.

PS Peaceful is still on top for sure.
