Me and my friends always used to go to Legendary Noodle (Main @26) but after going there tonight I probably won't be back there. I am very disappointed. We have a feeling that the couple who were there up until around Novemeber have returned to China.
The had the BEST cold noodle spinach/vermicelli salad, lovely dumplings, yummy soup. Today was just mediocre and my friend and I are sad!! It was such a lovely place to go for a quick, delicious fix for very little money.
Sha-Lin is an old standby, but not super crazy cheap. Kirin and Sun Sui Wa are also lovely but certainly more 'special occasion' fare. Where can you Vancouver foodies recommend for a great, inexpensive Chinese/noodle house fix? We'll even go to Richmond!
Well, for anyone who hasn't been to Legendary lately I would definitely not recommend it. The cold noodle salad just tasted like horseradish and was not the same as it was before. The hot-sour soup with dumplings was lacking flavour and was such a disappointment - went there specifically to satisfy that craving tonight. Also, the portions were far smaller than they were on previous trips.
So, yeah. Looking for a replaceent, which is SO sad as I really did enjoy and look forward to Legendary as an 'old standby.' Sigh.
