leftover short ribs... sauce needs some help

I have a big pile of leftover short ribs from a restaurant. The meat is wonderfully tender, but the sauce is far too sweet and syrupy for my taste. What could I do with this to make a nice new meal? I was thinking about shredding/chopping the meat and turning it all into a sauce for pasta, but I don't even know where to start with that. And what would I add to the sauce to make it less cloying? I don't like vinegar much at all, so I was thinking maybe red wine? Or maybe lemon juice or tomatoes?

I am extremely crunched for time right now, so it'd have to be a fairly simple fix. Minimal added ingredients and chopping time, if possible.
