The SRJC's Shone Farm OpenHouse was Sunday and nearly washed out in the afternoon rains. It's been expansively developed beyond the organic herb gardens in these recent years. We walked the rows of pruned tomato vines, tasting all the varieties, admired the horse team carriage, listened in on the Garden Tour, and shopped for garlic braids and pumpkins in shades of orange, green, blue, and white. First time to see sesame and safflower growing, along with fresh blackeyed peas.
New cheesemakers - Todd and Pascal are on Dry Creek Road in Healdsburg and making artisanal sheep and goat milk products - leaping pug is the name. Any more info on these new producers?
