Le Zocole--Venetian tapas was excellent!!

I've been to Le Zocole (Ave A and E6th st.) twice and everything i've had was wonderful!!!

their signature dish is "Le Zocole", which is a macoroni and cheese dish with black truffles....not sure if that's authentically italian--but who cares, it was divine!!!

their other speciality is Cichetti, which is Venetian-style tapas. i once had crappy cichetti at an overpriced restaurant in san francisco and was a little hesistant to order it. but i'm very happy i did. it was wonderful! AND a good deal. $15.95 (which is meant for two people but could easily satisfy three) gets you a platter of different little dishes: prosciutto in a paramsean bowl, fried olives, octopus, cod mousse, squid, eggplant, fried sardines, anchovies, fried artichokes, polenta, etc....

i picked off of my friends's main entrees and they were all very tasty.

and save room for desert--we ordered 4 different deserts and enjoyed them all!!
