Le Petit Mitron

At the recommendation of Rick Nichols, and our own beloved Sylvia Glassman, I tried Le Petit Mitron, the Frech Patisserie in Narberth. I agree that this is definitely a find.

I got a couple of plain croissants and a chocalate eclair for my first visit. The croissants are the best I've had in this country. They are super light and flaky, with seemingly endless layers of pastry. They are buttery and rich, but not heavy. I highly recommend them. At $1.95 each, they are not cheap, but they are well worth the price considering the effort that goes into making them.

The eclair was heavenly. The pastry was light and airy. The chocolate filling was of a high quality dark chocolate, thick and full of flavor. It bears no resemblance to the chocolate pudding americans typically put in eclairs. It cost $2.95, and was a very filling and satisfying dessert.

I can't wait to go back.
