Thanks to John Talbott for the recommendation.
We arrived before the dining room was open and were settled into the adjacent bar for a Sancerre and an amuse of cheese, carrot and bread. (Pictures below are arranged in the order the item is mentioned.) The view of the inn's garden was lovely.
With the kitchen fully fired up we were moved to another lovely spot and spoiled rotten with one treat after another. The starter was another spread, this time raw salmon, squid and I have no recall of what was in the little cups. Sorry! Next came the plats. I had rabbit. Others had pork or salmon. For dessert we were presented with hard choices. One chose the cheese. Another chose the chocolate. Then there was the custard. And, the prettiest...a collection of fruits with frozen tarragon shavings. And, with the coffee we were treated with two more spreads of various sweets.
Best meal to date in France!
We are thinking of taking the train out again just for the food!
