I bought a Le Creuset 15.5 quart dutch oven back in August of 2014. I enjoyed using the pot, until today. I had the pot on my stove top, with olive oil and garlic simmering on low flame, when a piece of the enamel popped off. I was disappointed that a $600 pot has such poor quality control.
I ended up calling Le Creuset customer service and was given an RMA number, with no promise that they will fulfill my warranty. I can imagine shipping will cost at least 60 dollars for a pot this large and heavy; it would only add to the annoyance if they refuse warranty due to "abuse." I really hope that excuse is not used, as I have read disappointing stories online about their warranty, especially considering how I greatly cared for this piece of cookware.
Has this occurred to anyone else on here? What was your experience like and what carrier did you use for shipping?
I also found out there are outlet stores...has anyone managed to bring their pot to an outlet store and have them handle the RMA?
