I am planning a trip to Vegas in January. I would like one very nice meal with my husband and am trying to decide between Le Cirque and Picasso. Both seem to get quite good reviews. I also looked at Joel Robuchon but am thinking that may not be the best value. However, I would welcome input and haven't eliminated that as an option. So much good food, so little time....
They are both excellent. You won’t go wrong with either one. The food is terrific at both. The service is formal but personable at both. The biggest difference between the two to me lies in the atmosphere. Picasso is a larger room, somewhat austere, but that sets off the multiple Picasso paintings within. On the other hand, Le Cirque’s setting is whimsical, in a much smaller space. I’ve dined at both many times and have never been disappointed with the food at either. I did have some service issues at Picasso once, but that was due to their being unexpectedly slammed on Christmas Eve. They more than made up for it to us on our next visit and we’ve been back many times since without a hitch.
I’ve also dined at JR several times. I like the extras there (bread and dessert carts), but at at least twice the price as Picasso and Le Cirque, the latter two will provide you with a lovely evening, at a lower price point. In fact, depending upon what you order to eat and drink, you could almost eat at both Le Cirque and Picasso for the cost of one dinner at JR. As an aside, I’ve never ordered ala carte at any of the three restaurants, instead, ordering the tasting menu each time at all of them.
haven't been to picasso but go to le cirque every time i'm in vegas. JR is nice (but a bit too formal for me) but I haven't gone back since I tried it the first time. I'd rather go to le cirque twice ;)
