I live in the Peel/deMaisonneuve area so on a cold night, I won't wander too far east or north and last night was one of those nights; I had been intrigued by this new place, Le Chandelier, lovely views from the window, the decor is very fancy and trendy. We looked at the menu outside and it seemed to have choices for both of us, veal burger for my husband, chicken for me (I'm allergic to seafood and fish, we looked at Pois Penché as we were walking on de Maisonneuve, lovely but mostly fish, it looked very full).
I was almost willing to give mbrgr bar another try ( after my disastrous hockey puck organic burger experience in february), it was packed. I guess dried out burgers are popular.
Anyhow, we had a wonderful meal at Le Chandelier, we were the only people there from 6:30 to 8 p.m. although I did spot more people on other nights when I walked by.
I had the portuguese chicken meal, DH had the veal burger, both dishes were amazing, I had their lemon layer cake for dessert, we had 3 glasses of wine between us, the tab was 90$ including tax, pricey but the setting is mind blowing and so elegant.
the chicken dish was 26$, the burger 19$
the place is on de Maisonneuve west, corner of Drummond.
it's worth a peek through the window if you're in the neighborhood.
I have no idea if it's been reviewed yet or if they've advertised.
